GATE RIVER RUN | MARCH 12, 2011 • Race numbers above 5,000 will line up behind fenced area on Gator Bowl Blvd. • Please try to place yourself in the proper starting area based on your per mile pace. The pace signs will be posted on the fence along the sides of the starting area. • Children are not allowed near the front of the race! • Wait for the cannon to fire before you start to move. • Wait for the runners in front of you to move before you start to move forward. • Make sure you cross the starting line mats so that you will be able to get a net time for the race. • Watch it in the early turns. Don’t cut in on others. • This is a very long race, so start out slowly, especialy if you just want to complete the distance. • Baby joggers, strollers, and dogs are prohibited from the race! Finishing The Race • The 15K finishes next to the Everbank Field with a large jumbotron over the finish line. The 5K will finish inside the Fairgrounds off Phillip Randolph Blvd. 15K Finish Instructions • Do not stop at the clock. Keep moving until you cross both sets of timing mats. Your finish time may be taken as you cross the second timing mat. • Top 10% finisher caps will be given out right after you cross the 15K finish line. If you do not get the award at this point you will not be able to it claim later! • Water is located before the medal pick-up area. Take a bottle and keep moving. One bottle per finisher please! • Make sure you get your finishers medal before you exit the fenced area. You will not be allowed back into the area once you have exited. .• Race results will be displayed on a Jumbotron at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds during the Publix post- race celebration. Race Results • 15K runners can get results for the 5K and 10K splits and the 15K on the Internet at www.runningjacksonville. com. Results Kiosks will be available at the Post-Race area for partipants to check their individual results. Publix Post Race Celebration • The celebration starts at 9:00AM at the Fairgrounds. Food for a healthy lifestyle will be featured. The Publix Post Race Celebration will include: • Lots of healthy food to reload your system •Big Al and the Kaholic • Miller Lite Beer • Prize Money Awards • Clowns and entertainment for the Kids Awards Ceremony • Prize money awards will be presented at 10:45 AM. Over $80,000 in prize money will be awarded and we will crown the new USA Track and Field 15K Champions. Awards will be presented to the top ten men and women overall, the top masters male and female finishers, the top Florida male and female finishers, the top Jacksonville area male and female finishers, the Equalizer Bonus as well as the TenBroeck Cup. Age-group awards will be mailed to the winners the following week. Runner’s Expo • You can visit the Runner’s Expo after the race from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
