Want to Volunteer?
We need volunteers and or coordinators to help with the following:
- Handing out packets at the expo
- Expo set up and tear down
- Start and finish line help
- Water stations
- Bag Check
- Chip Packet Stuffing
- 5K Walk for Charity volunteers
- Junior River Run help
- Registration
Expo Help
Volunteers are needed to staff the three-day Runner's Expo which will be held on March 8th, 9th and 10th at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds. Each volunteer will receive a free t-shirt. We need about 200 volunteers to adequately staff the packet pickup area. We would like volunteers to work at least two hour shifts, four hour shifts are the best. All day volunteers will receive a special GATE River Run item. If you or a group are interested in volunteering for the expo or for the race, please drop us an email at firstplacesports@mindspring.com with the date, time, number of volunteers, and also indicate job preference.
Expo Schedule
Wednesday, March 6th from 11 AM until 6 PM.
Duties: Unload t-shirts and packets, hang banners and signs, and set up/organize area.
Thursday, March 7th from 10 AM until 6 PM
Duties: Hand out t-shirts and race packets.
Friday, March 8th from 10 AM until 8 PM
Duties: Hand out t-shirts and race packets.
Saturday, March 9th from 6:30 AM until 2 PM
Duties: Hand out t-shirts and race packets, and help load up from noon until 2 PM.
